Herts Basketry Group

I thought today I would do a little promotion for the Herts Basketry.  It is a friendly group with a current membership of about 30 basketmakers and aspiring makers.  Meetings are held in various locations throughout Hertfordshire and are a mix of informal, member led workshops and tutor led workshops; we also support local events/shows and attend and take part in exhibitions.

At yesterday’s AGM and informal workshop we experimented with methods of binding/lashing and made bark stars and paper/cane snowflakes.  We have some great workshops and informal events planned for 2017, including a cane workshop with Polly Pollock, willow cutting, a 2 day workshop making nut and arc baskets with Nadine Anderson, a bark workshop with Maggie Smith and rush cutting.  We will also be attending the Herts County Show.  If you want to find out more about the group, get in touch with me or go to the Herts website.
